While the new storage yardis located at the end of one of the city lines, the loopfor this line, which occupies a portion of the front endof the tract of ground, is built entirely separate fromthe storage yard trackage. Aside from the special workconnections with the main line, all of the track andspecial work in the yard is of the open type and henceeasily maintained. Furthermore, the special work andcurves entering the tipple track are so constructed thatstandard steam railroad cars with equipmentcan be operated over
