Building displaying frieze was 1500s Michna Palace, converted by architect František Krásný (1865-1947) to house gym and social facilities in 1926-1927. During the 1948-1989 Communist era, this same building served as the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport for Charles University:


Prague, Czechia / Czech Republic: Fitness for all … 1920s mass gymnastics and other activities sculpted in a stylised Modernist frieze by Jaroslav Brychta (1895-1971) on an exterior wall of the 16th Century former Michna Palace or Tyrš House in Malá Strana, the capital city’s Little Quarter or Lesser Town. The Michna Palace was transformed in 1926-7 by architect Frantisek Krásný (1865-1947) into a gymnasium and social facility, and it was then used during the 1948-1989 Communist era as the Charles University's Faculty of Physical Education and Sport.
