In the days of St. Antony, Christianmonks still wore a garment of camels hair. The Buddhist nuns have the black and the white veil, butthese, as in Spain, are for protection against heat in summer,and cold in winter. They do not denote spiritual nun with the white veil I copied from Siebolds Nippon; ^the nun with the black veil from a photograph.
