In dark blues Aida is a fine color and very early. Veilchenblau is a standard at a low price and one of the very best. Ave Marie is the largest in a medium blue. Mrs. Gertrude Pfitzer is also fine but under artificial light especially looks rather grayish. In the deep blues nothing can touch Pelegrina and when the price gets down it will be in enormous demand. LAVENDERS. Minuet I consider the nearest perfection. Has more class and charm than any other light lavender. Though Dr. Moody and Berty Snow are prob- ably better exhibition varieties as under good conditions they will open more at a time. Royal Lavender when well grown is very fine but sometimes needs good grow- ing conditions to get the best out of it. It is one of the very best commercials and it can be shipped any distance and will open up perfectly to the tip and retain its color. LIGHT PINKS AND SALMONS. Picardy is king of all as far as beauty goes. A wonderful exhibition and commercial flower too. W. H. Phipps when weil grown can win over anything in its class. Coronation is a comer. Duna is different and beautiful. Mrs. Langford will prove as popular a commercial as Picardy and it is also a great exhibition variety. Rose Marie Pfitzer is one of the very finest.
