Indian Coast Guardsman "On the Warpath". Coast Guardsman George "White Bear" Drapeaux, a Sioux Indian of Wagner, South Dakota, has traveled more than 100,000 miles in the service of the U. S. Coast Guard since the war began. Now a gunner on a Coast Guard-manned assault transport somewhere in the Pacific, he was bombed at Singapore two weeks after Pearl Harbor and survived the burning of another transport in the Atlantic.
