The music of Turkey contains many diverse elements, notably Persian, Baltic and Byzantine elements. Much of its origns are found with the Seljuk Turks, they colonized Anatolia and Persia in the 11th C. Many Turkish towns have vibrant local music clubs within them. Earlier forms of music are 'saray' originated as Court Music. Unofficiallly termed Alla Turca is a form of military music as is seen here. Mehter Takimi in Turkish is the oldest form of marching music in the world. A typical piece of their music goes, 'Your ancestors,your grandfathers, your generation, your father(X2) The Turkish armies have always been valiant Your armies,have many times,been renowned throughout the world (X2)'
