Eagle, Alaska, Aug. 8, 2013 In 2009, The Village of Eagle began considering and later preparing for a move away from the water's edge in an effort to stop the repetitive losses from annual spring flooding. Today after the move to higher ground, the mitigation effort has reduced the loss of property and the loss of lives for this community.
