Another axe-hammer of greenstone, with projections on the sidesopposite the centre of the hole, and with a hollow fluting near eachmargin, and carried roundon the faces below the holes,is shown in Fig. 139. Theoriginal was found by theRev. J. C. Atkinson, whohas kindly lent it me forengraving. It lay in an urnabout 17 inches high, con-taining burnt bones and somefragments of burnt flint, in alarge barrow on the SkeltonMoors, Yorkshire. In thesame barrow were found eightother urns, all containingsecondary interments. Inanother barrow, on Wester-dale Moors, Mr. Atkinsonfound a second axe-hammerof nearly the same size andform, but more hammer-likeat the end.
