Catalan History Museum in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
The Museum of History of Catalonia (in Catalan: Museu d'Història de Catalunya), also known by its acronym as MHC, was created in 1996 by the Government of the Generalitat of One of the fundamental reasons for the creation of the museum is to narrate to its visitors the history of Catalonia through a collection of related objects and documents, of historical recreations and settings of audiovisual and computer equipment, which bring us closer to the history of this Autonomous Community in a playful way. In this way, it is intended to stimulate at the same time that the interest about the evolution of Catalan culture is reported. The museum is interested in the conservation and exhibition of material that illustrates the history of Catalonia, giving special support to people and institutions whose objective is historical research. At the same time, it deals with the management of the monuments owned by the Generalitat of Catalonia, with the aim of improving the conditions of maintenance, visits and cultural dissemination.
