Armstrong-Slater Memorial Trade Schoolwas opened in November 1896, with an address byPresident Gilman of Johns Hopkins University. Itis a one-story brick building on the plan of a quadruplecross with an interior courtyard. A second story isnow in process of construction which will double theoriginal floor space. Its extreme length is 278 feet andits width 220 feet. Its present floor space of 26,000square feet is divided into eleven rooms for the varioustrades. Part of the cost was supplied by the late K.
