Stretchable electronic circuit. This circuit is made using a thin circuit layer applied to a plastic substrate that has been heat treated to enable it to expand or contract much like an accordion. Measuring only a few micrometers in width, the flexible circuit can be wrapped around very small structures without breaking. Such devices could have applications as a medical implant. Developed by the Rogers Research Group, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
