A pair of luxury flintlock pistols by E. Couna, Liège, circa 1720/30 Round barrels with rib and lightly widening muzzle, smooth bores in 14 mm calibre. Barrel tops with chiselled and engraved décor, and signature "E. COVNA" on the rib. Over the breech four brass-lined marks, three times crowned "EC", one time fleur-de-lys. Engraved lock with brass lock plate. Finely carved walnut full stocks with dark horn nosepieces. Fire-gilded brass furnitures chased and chiselled in low relief with open-work side plates.
