A beautiful river-road 99. runs six miles from Ieterljorough to Jaffrey, the old-time Mirklle-Monadnocktown, famous as a summer-resort, and commanding, from its quaint oldvillage high up on the plateau, a royal view of Monadnock. And anotherpleasant road runs from Peterborough to Dublin, the most fashionable summer-resort in all the Monadnock country. Returning to Hancock Junction, we may go northward by railway downthe Contoocook Valley to Contoocook and Concord, traversing the quiethill-towns of Bennington, Antrim, Hillsborough, and Henniker, each with itshalf-score of summer boarding-houses.
