Padua, Italy : Temple Unknown Internee.

On January 27 Italy celebrates the 'Giorno della Memoria' ('Holocaust Remembrance Day'), to keep the memory of the victims of the nazi lagers alive. The 'Tempio dell'Internato Ignoto' ('Temple of the Unknown Internee') was built in Padua in 1953, by the priest Giovanni Fortin, who had been interned in the lager of Dachau. The temple is also an ossuary for thousands of victims of the nazi persecution. A 'Museum of the Holocaust' stands by the temple.
