The Carmelit underground funicular railway in Haifa, Israel.
The Carmelit funicular railway is one of the smallest subway systems in the world made up of a single line, 6 stations and km long track, connecting the downtown port area with the higher level Carmel Centre. The Carmelite was originally opened in 1959, and the current renovated system was opened in 1992. It is the only subway of Israel.
