December to MAMMOTH BLACK T\uG. Lawver. See Delaware Red Winter. Longfield. A Russian variety, imported some years since. Tree a free, upright grower, early and abundant bearer. Medium to large; yellow, with a blush on the sunny side like Maiden's Blush; rich, sprightly, sub-acid; quality as good as Fameuse and something like it. December to March. Mcintosh Red. An exceedingly valuable, hardy Canada sort. Medium size, nearly cov- ered with dark red; flesh white, fine, very tender, juicy and refreshing. A good, an- nual bearer of fair, handsome fruit. Resembles the Fameuse but larger and more hard}', and fully equal in quality to this standard sort. November to February. Marshall, or Red Bellflower. Very large, deep crimson: shaped like Yellow Bellflower. of fine quality; tree produc- tive. Originated near Xapa. by J. L. Marshall, being a cross between Yellow Bell- flower and Red June. One of the most valuable market va- rieties. Minkler. Fruit medium, round- ish, oblate, slightly conical: pale greenish yellow, striped and splashed with two shades of red; flesh yellowish, com- pact, moderately jucy, mild. pleasant sub-acd; tree irregular grower, vig- orous.
