A cased pair of percussion pistols, Johann Novotny, Prague, circa 1865. Round, blued barrels with smooth bore in 12 mm calibre, patent breechblocks and forge-welded front sights. Each weapon bears the inscription, "J. NOVOTNY A PRAGUE (BOHEME) DEPOT A PARIS 54 RUE DU FAUBOURG ST. HONORE", finely engraved on top of the barrel. Adjustable rear sights mounted on the tangs which are engraved with floral designs. The percussion locks also display fine floral engraving. Single set triggers.
