Karl XII's double staircase and bell from the 1723 fire, Katarina Kyrka (Church of Catherine) Sodermalm Stockholm Sweden Scandinavia


Original church was constructed between 1656-1695. In 1723 after a major fire the bell tower collapsed. The double staircase leads from the cemetery to the church's southern entrance. Built between 1712 and 1715 and named after Charles XII (Karl XII) of Sweden. The railing was made by blacksmith Benjamin Roth
