Cpl. F. O. Cernochan of the Signal Corps captured this photograph. It shows the entrance to a cave located in an old quarry between Plamette and Blanzy, France. This site was of historic significance, as it is where a large number of men were gassed due to a leaky gas shell left by the enemy. The 2nd En., 302nd Engra. suffered casualties in this area. The photo was released by the Censor, but the exact date is unknown.
