The Alcazaba is a palatial fortification in Málaga, Spain. It was built by the Hammudid dynasty and completed in around 1057. This is the best-preserved alcazaba in Spain. In front of the Alcazaba are remnants of a Roman theatre dating to the 1st century BC. The word alcazaba comes from the arabic word al-qasbah, meaning citadel.
