The inscription below this records a restoration in by Vespasian, while a third inscription speaks of a second restoration by Titus in 81. It was later repaired by Severus and Caracalla about ,. 200. The gateway is double, with arches that are much more ornate than those in the rest of the aqueduct. Two roads (Via Labicana and Via Praenestina) passed through it.
