A decommissioning ceremony was held in honor of the official closure of Air Station Los Angeles Friday, May 20, 2016. Helicopters operating from the FOB will continue to support Coast Guard missions such as search and rescue, law enforcement, and port security along the California coast from Dana Point to Morro Bay until a new permanent air station is built.
