Week days have had light pressure followed by an increase on the last two days. Residence of Hunters In order to evaluate the importance of pheasant hunting in the Sac- ramento Valley to the State as a whole, the region of residence of hunters was recorded (Table 8). As considerable publicity had been given to the Sartain ranch, it received greater nonlocal pressure than adjacent areas. In each year of the study the bulk of the hunting during the entire season was done by residents of the San Francisco Bay area.
