Lanercost Priory, England. Picturesque view of the transept and presbytery area of Lanercost Priory. Founded around 1169 by Robert de Vaux, Lanercost Priory was home to an order of Augustinian Canons. The priory remained in use until 1538 when it was dissolved by Henry VIII. The priory is now managed by Historic England and is open to the public at specified times.
