William Paap, 33rd Fighter Wing pilot for a day, and his father and sisters look inside the cockpit of an F-35A Lightning II Nov. 20, 2018, at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The Pilot For A Day program aims to give local children with on-going medical issues the full experience of being at a flying unit. During his day, Paap got up close and personal with a jet, listened to pilots from the control tower, learned how maintenance keeps aircraft ready to fly and got hands-on with police and firefighters from the 96th Test Wing.
