Pacific Ocean (June 25, 2024) Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Aaron Avalos from Reno, Nev., fires a shot line from the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) to the Henry J. Kaiser-class underway replenishment oiler USNS Pecos (T-AO 197) during a replenishment at sea. Fitzgerald is underway in the 3rd Fleet area of operations as part of the basic phase to complete certifications and training events in preparation for future sustained operations at sea.
