Tlie lower photograph shows the standard naval seaplane, one of the P-5-L type, having two 400 h. p. ]L,iberty motors, which is twice the horse- power of the airplane in the upper part of this page. This particular type of plane has been in use in carrying mail and passengers for the navy department between the harbors of Los Angeles and San Diego for many years. 78.
