Lt. E. O. Harrs captured a photograph of the first aeroplane mail service established with the fighting forces in France during World War One. The image shows Lt. Alan C. Cameron, the pilot of the 163rd Flight Detachment, and Lt. Clyde A. Byrd, in charge of the aeroplane courier service, receiving a package of official mail from Lt. Arthur W. Einstein of the 183rd Detachment at 2nd Corps Hdqrs in Fruges, France. This photograph has been held by the AEP Censor for official use only since September 6, 1918.
