The underside of the female Common Banded Argiope, one of the largest of the Orb-web Spiders, clearly shows the spinnerts and anal tunercle on the abdomen. The zig-zag stabilmentum of silk is also a common feature on orb-web structures. The exact purpose is not fully understood yet.
