Here are three churches, St. Martins, Trinitychurch, and St. Marys church, which are all three fupplied byone minifter, who preaches at St. Marys, the great church, thefummer half year, and at the two others alternately in the win-ter. The tower of St. Marys is the chief ornament of thetown. The fori in and about this place produces vaft quantitiesof garlick ; but the chief trade of the town is in tobacco pipeclay, of which the beft in Great Britain is dugout of a hill inthe neighbourhood, called Hunger Hill.
