Resolvase enzyme complexed with DNA, molecular model. The area at centre is a gamma-delta resolvase enzyme forming a complex with two cleaved helices of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). The DNA strands form the struts of the cross structure shown here. Resolvase enzymes are ones that take part in genetic recombination, where DNA and RNA strands combine, split and mix, redistributing genetic information.
