Wendover, Buckinghamshire, UK. 27th February, 2021. HS2 have closed off a public footpath this week in Wendover and destroyed the hedgerow and trees next to it. They are now piled high as a heap of woodchip and the area has been decimated by HS2. The High Speed 2 rail link from London to Birmingham puts 693 wildlife sites and 108 ancient woodlands at risk. It is changing the face of parts of the Chilterns which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, causing much upset amongst local residents and nature lovers. Credit: Maureen McLean/Alamy
