James Joyce (February 2, 1882 – January 13, 1941) in his apartment in the Rue Edmund Valentin, Paris, in 1939, the year of publication of his final novel, Finnegans Wake. His books include Dubliners (1914), A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (1916) and Ulysses (1922).
