Georg Patzenhofer opened a storage cellar & brewery on the site in the 1850s. The brewery existed here for more than a 100ayears. It was renamed & merged but the VEB Schultheiss brewery produced beer here until 1991. Some of the buildings were demolished in 2006/2007 and replaced by residential buildings. The remaining buildings are listed monuments. Most of the buildings were designed by the architects Max Alterthum & Salo Zadek. The entire building complex was built of brick. The three-storey administration building on the corner of Landsberger Allee used high-quality dark red bricks and had a decorative facade.
