Spectacled Caiman, Caiman crocodilus, patiently waits for unsuspecting prey to get too close. It is found in much of Central and South America, including Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guyana, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. Also found on Trinidad and Tobago. It has been introduced to Florida in the , Cuba, and Puerto Rico. It is the most common of all crocodilian species.
