Thepast year our Freshman class numbered two hundred and seventy, and ourtotal attendance makes us, next to the University of Wisconsin, the largestcollege in the state. The institution is yearly adding to its endowmentand equipment. Its location, rapid growth and increased endowmentmakes it certain that it is to be one of the most prominent and one of thelargest colleges in the Middle West. Student Activities and Organisations Lawrence has a large variety of student organizations. There arethe following clubs: German, English, Chemistry, Politics, Latin, His-tory, Burroughs and Dramatic. The literary societies are the Laureanand Athena. The Y. M. C. A. and the Y. W. C. A. are the strongestorganizations in college. The All College Club has general charge ofnearly all forms of college activity.
