The Schenectady works of the Amer-ican Locomotive Company have recentlyturned out some comparatively light con-solidation engines for the Cincinnati, NewOrleans and Texas Pacific Railway. Theengines are simple with 20 x 24-in. cylin-ers and 52-in. driving wheels, allflanged. The boiler is 54-in. diameter in-side the first ring. The weight of theseengines, which is 121,700 lbs., in workingorder, is determined by the capacity of thebridges now on the line.
