September 2020 An unusual war memorial (with names) for international servicemen (American, Canadian,British, Polish, Australian & New Zealanders) who lost their lives in air crashes in the Forest of Bowland in WW2 (and up to 1949), The area in Lancashire is a popular tourist spot for motorists, walkers, hikers and cyclists. Also known as the Bowland Fells, it is a beautiful natural area of gritstone fells, deep valleys and peat moorland, mostly in north-east Lancashire, England with a small part in North Yorkshire. It was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1964
