Marines from the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment move through a burning communist camp during Operation Jay on June 26, 1966. The camp, located 13 miles northwest of Hue, was heavily defended by an estimated battalion of North Vietnamese troops. The Marines engaged in a 48-hour battle, resulting in the death of over 80 enemy combatants. The photograph was taken by 10th Platoon Ferreira and is part of the Defense Department's photo archive (Harlie Corps).
