The latter were in bad conditidn, more than half no good owing to being on the way loo long. The chief topic is the war, and sending money, clothing, vegetables and apples to Belgians. One parish in tills county, it is said, sent two thou- sand dollars' worth by every available means, including balls, teas, col- lecting from to house to a patri- otic fund: also to support those fami- lies left behind. All business people are complaining, and we fear we have not seen the worst. It is reported that we here in New Brunswick do not feel it as bad as western provinces and larger cities.
