Korku is a scheduled tribe (ST) community predominantly found in Madhay Pradesh and some part of Maharasthra. he Korku tribe lives in small groups of huts made of grass and wood. Korkus are primarily cultivators. Most of the Korku mothers are compelled to leave their toddlers below 3 years with other siblings or aged to be looked after. Many children accompany their mothers to fields or to wage earning sites. Malnutriiton among Korku tribe children sets in and grow rapidly during first two years of life and becomes severe or untreatable when they grow above three years.
