Among other Palaeozoic species are Pterophyllum Grand'Eury- anum Sap. and Mar.^ discovered by Grand'Eury in the Coal Measures of France, P. blechnoides Sand.* from the Upper Coal Measures of Oppenau and recorded by Geinitz^ from the Middle Permian of Germany, P. Gottaeanum Gutb.^, a similar type, also from Permian rocks, but with coarser venation. The specimens figured by Geinitz as P. blechnoides and P.
