Summer residence of King Alfonso XIII and his family, who occupied it regularly until the proclamation of the Second Republic. In 1982 he was declared a historic-artistic monument. Between 1993 and 1995 was rehabilitated by the city of Santander. Today is the International University Menéndez Pelayo.
