He appears tobe the Benjamin Soule of the adjoining townof Plympton, Massachusetts, a soldier in therevolution, in Captain Thomas Lorings com-pany on the Lexington alarm, April 19, was also in Captain Thomas Samsonscompany. Brigadier Joseph Cushings regi-ment, at Rhode Island in 1776. In the censusof 1790. Benjamin of Plympton is reported tohave two sons under sixteen years and twofemales in his familv. He married Esther Lane,of New Milford. (VII) John (2), son of John (i) Soule,was born in Kent, Connecticut, January 7,1802, and died in November, 1894. He waseducated in the common schools, and learnedthe trade of blacksmith at which he workedin connection with farming, all his active settled on Long Mountain, New Milford,in the first house south of the old Abel Can-field place, in 1827.
