Porphyry, igneous rock, feldspar phenocrysts in mafic matrix, Australia, show two different stages of cooling

Porphyry is an igneous rock characterized by large mineral crystals called phenocrysts suspended in a finely crystallized groundmass. This Australian porphyry consists of pink feldspar crystals in a dark colored dolerite that originates from a greenstone belt within the Yilgarn Block, Western Australia. This material has been dated at approximately billion years old
