The 1887 tower and keepers house at the North Point Light Station north of downtown Milwaukee.

The North Point Light Station on Lake Michigan north of Milwaukee Bay was constructed in 1887 to replace a previous lighthouse that was located too close to the bluffs. The current lighthouse features a 39 foot cast iron octagonal base that was extended to 74 feet in 1912 when an addition elevated the light to the current height. Also built in 1887 is the light keepers house which today houses a museum and gift shop. Prior to being deactivated by the US Coast Guard in 1994, the light could be seen as much as 20 miles into the lake. Restored in 2007 the lighthouse is open for tours and available for events.
