This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Hebes Chasma landslides, Mars, satellite image. Hebes Chasma is an enclosed trough formed by volcanic activity. It stretches 315 kilometres long east to west and 125 kilometres north to south. A large landslide is visible on the right of the image. Numerous grooves are etched into the mountain walls indicating erosion. It is thought that groundwater once flowed through this canyon. The image data is from the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on board the European Space Agency's (ESA) Mars Express Orbiter.
