We tried, quiteineffectually, to learn the history of the only two monuments whichretain something of their ancient shape and original of these is a conical tower, which rises in the centre of a well-defined area, two-thirds of a mile in circuit. The tower has acircumference of ninety-two feet at the base, and rises to a heightof one hundred and ten feet.
