September 30, 2017 - Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain - A firefighter transports water bottles to the Cervantes Public School one of the designated polling stations for the referendum on independence in Barcelona. Citizens are taking and sleeping at polling stations to prevent the Spanish security forces from impeding the referendum. On sunday Catalan government aims to held a referendum on independence, the Spanish government is frontally opposed to the referendum and consider it illegal. Thousands of Spanish police officers have been transferred to the Catalan region to ban the referendum.
