Thisgold tongue and the soft piece areshown in Fig. 3. unvulcanized rubber into shape as nearlyas possible, placing it upon the tongueand putting in the mouth, and tryingto place it so that the patient couldtalk and retain the appliance without itsgagging him or touching the back ofhis throat.
